There's a part of this town that you know/ that is paved in the gold/ that they stole from the mouths of the one time kings And all the battlers just so long as they know/every tune in the show/ they don't care what song you sing So he got his kit on/ and started up a song/ but they never even heard the first word For their knives were all out/ but out of his mouth/ came flying a fiery bird And it flew over the crowd/ trailing a blinding sound Saying 'oooohhh, ya never gonna hold me down' And all the papers got it wrong when they said/ that it came from his head/ it was the phoenix in his heart/ that blew him apart And no one ever really knew who he was/ cause no one ever does/ we just wander around in cacophonous sounds It was the tired melodies/ and the old allegories/ from a world that turns much too slow/ That had bound him so tight/ with the might of a sky/ that was filled with the notes long gone cold But his spirit was stronger than that/ and as it flew it never looked back Singing 'ooooohhh, ya never gonna hold me down'

about

This album was created in a shed out the back of our house in Brisbane whilst living in Australia in 2006. It is really a songwriting fella messing around with recording. It is time to let it out. Free it up.
